ARTICLE VII - MEETINGS
SECTION 1 - MEETINGS FOR WORSHIP
Unless otherwise determined by the pastor, the church shall meet each Sunday for public worship both morning and evening and at least once during the week for Bible study and prayer. Except when circumstances forbid it, the ordinance of the Lord's Supper shall be observed on the first Sunday evening bi-monthly.
SECTION 2 - MEETINGS FOR CHURCH ADMINISTRATION
A quarterly church administration meeting shall be held in the first month of each quarter, at which time the regular church administration shall be considered. A quorum shall consist of the members present. All items to be voted on will require a three-fourths or 75 percent of the voting quorum to constitute a majority vote, except, when two or more candidates are voted on for the same position, majority vote carries. The date for the annual church administration meeting and the annual election of church officers shall be determined at the regular church ministry affairs meeting in September of each year.
All church administration meetings shall be opened and closed with prayer for divine guidance and blessing.
The following order shall be observed at the regular church administration meetings:
Devotions and prayer
Reading of minutes
Reception of members
Dismissal of members
Reports of officers
Reports of standing committees
Reports of special committees
Unfinished matters
Election of officers
New matters
Adjournment
Benediction
All church business meetings shall be conducted consistent with the following guidelines:
The Pastor or the Chairman of the Board of Deacons, in the absence of the Pastor, shall be the moderator. The Church Clerk will take the minutes of the meeting.
Before the meeting is called to order, visitors and non-members will be given the opportunity to leave.
The moderator will then call the meeting to order and have prayer.
The moderator will state the entire agenda of business to be conducted prior to any discussion or action.
Each agenda item must have a motion and a second before any discussion can begin. One motion will be allowed on the floor at a time.
After a motion has been second, the moderator will then clearly restate the motion for consideration before a discussion begins.
Discussions may be limited by the moderator, if the moderator feels it is necessary to effectively conduct the meeting, to three (3) minutes per person. Every member will be afforded the opportunity to speak if they so desire.
During the business meeting, the moderator shall have complete control of how the meeting is conducted. Only motions and actions acknowledged by the moderator shall be presented to those present and eligible to vote.
After the discussion, a motion and a second must be made on the agenda item before the vote of members. New motions made without provisions of a secret ballot shall be tabled until the next church administration meeting. All voting on any issue shall be by secret ballot.
After the motion has been second, the moderator will then restate the motion before the members begin voting.
SECTION 3 - SPECIAL MEETINGS
The pastor (or deacon if the office of pastor is vacant or the pastor is the subject of possible disciplinary action) may call a special meeting by giving notice of such a meeting and the purpose for which it is called to the church from the pulpit at least one Sunday and not less than one week prior to said meeting. A meeting for election of a pastor may be called by the pulpit committee at any regular church meeting at least one week in advance.
Bible conferences, missionary conferences, and revivals may be held as the pastor deems beneficial.
SECTION 4 - FISCAL YEAR
The fiscal year of the church shall begin January 1st and end December 31st.
