Lighthouse Christian Academy (LCA)
Admissions Policies and Procedures

Lighthouse Christian Academy School Board is interested in attracting students from Christian and Non-Christian families. It is our desire to provide a place where students can learn about Jesus Christ and have to opportunity to confess Christ as Savior and Lord. LCA is an evangelistic outreach ministry to families. LCA is not a corrective institution; consequently, we ask that a child not be enrolled with the idea that we will reform them. We are here to work with the home, but not to take the place of parents who are experiencing difficulty with their child. The students are to be motivated to learn, strong in character with a desire to be part of the LCA community.

Non-Discriminatory Policy
Lighthouse Christian Academy admits students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities, generally accorded or made available to the students at the school. It does not discriminate in the administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, financial aid, athletic activities, and other school administrative programs.

New Student Admission Process
Families interested in enrolling in Lighthouse Christian Academy (K-6) will receive an application packet that is to be filled out in full and returned to the school. The administrator, or her designee, will review the information and if the admission standards are met, an interview will be scheduled. During the interview, the administrator will meet with the parents and prospective student, then she will provide an overview of the school program, answer questions, obtain additional information regarding specific areas of concern, and give tours of the facilities. If all standards are met, the administrator informs the family of their acceptance. If questions remain or certain standards are not met, the decision goes to the school board who will render a decision and inform the prospective family within a few days.

Re-enrollment
Re-enrollment for students who wish to return to LCA will occur in the month of February. Current students will have first access to the space available. At the end of the re-enrollment period, classroom space will be opened to new students.

If a student is dismissed from the school due to academic and /or disciplinary reasons they must wait minimum of one year before making application for re-enrollment to LCA. The administrator, and school board will include all normal admission procedures in their review of the re-enrollment request and will review the reasons for dismissal, the record of behavior and performance during the past year, and the reputation of the student and their level of influence on the entire school community.
