Lighthouse Baptist Church
and Christian Academy

Building a foundation for a lifetime of learning.
Lighthouse Christian Academy (LCA)
Calendar
The school calendar is prepared annually. A copy of the calendar will be distributed to all Lighthouse Christian Academy families in the "back to school" packet that is mailed to your home in July. It is also available here.
Changes in Policy
Lighthouse Christian Academy reserves the right to change any policy at any time when, in the discretion of the Board/Administration, it is determined to be in the best interest of the school.
Fundraising/Donations
Lighthouse Christian Academy is a ministry of Lighthouse Baptist Church and is; therefore, a non-profit entity, dependent on tuition revenues and contributions to operate. LCA has two fundraisers per year. The annual Christmas card sale not only raises valuable funds for the school but also distributes scripture verses to share the real meaning of Christmas. Each spring a second fundraiser takes place but varies by product. You may also wish to donate to our scholarship and annual fund drives. These funds supplement the cost of the school program through direct donations. Families or companies with the means to help with these important funds are encouraged to donate. You can receive a tax write off for all direct donations. Call the church office for information.
Lunch
LCA has a hot lunch program prepared by the daycare staff each day. Students may purchase lunch for $2 per meal. Lunch cards can be purchased in the office in amounts of $10, $20 and $50. Students may also bring their lunch from home. Snacks and Milk may also be purchased. Milk is $.35 each or you may purchase a card for $7. Breakfast and Snacks are $1 each or you may purchase a card for $10. (Snacks will not be given out for free to children that have forgotten their snack). Please see your child's teacher for a complete menu. Students are expected to stay in the lunchroom the entire lunch period. The first 15 minutes of lunch is quiet time for eating and the second 15 minutes is for quiet whispering at the lunch table. Students are expected to leave their tables clean and neat and dispose of their trash. Proper and courteous behavior is expected of all students while at lunch.
School Property
Many Christians over the past seven years through their work, prayers and gifts have made this school and program possible. Our sponsoring church, Lighthouse Baptist, has maintained the vision of Christian education and sacrificed much to make the school possible in this community. Parents through their investments have also assisted in maintaining our facilities and program. Students should consider it a privilege to attend Lighthouse Christian Academy; and therefore, they should do all in their power to keep our facilities attractive and clean. Any student known to deface or destroy school property will be assessed the full cost of repairs and be subject to dismissal.
School Pictures
School student pictures are made each year in the spring and fall. A class picture will be taken and purchase is optional.
Yearbooks
School yearbooks are made each year and purchase is optional.
Memos
School memos (Lighthouse Notes) are given to all students twice a month. All parents are encouraged to make a habit of reading the memos to be properly informed of important school information and events.
Withdrawal from School
One (1) month's notice must be given before withdrawal of any student. In lieu of proper notice, one (1) month's tuition will be due at time of withdrawal. Any student attending six (6) months of school and withdrawing will be charged the full year's tuition. No student's records will be released until paid in full.
Daycare
LCA offers daycare for full-time, part-time and after-school children ages 1 year through 12 years of age. If daycare services are needed, information on registration and fees can be obtained by contacting the daycare office at 562-0990.
Related Policies/Grades K-6
LCA has a no tolerance policy involving threats or perceived threats of violence by students. Parents should understand that the school's first responsibility is the protection of all its students. The school takes this responsibility very seriously. Therefore, if a student brings a weapon to school or school function, or has a weapon on his/her person, the school will immediately expel the student. Parents are advised that the school will contact the local police or appropriate authorities, and will note in the student's permanent record that he/she was expelled for possession of a weapon on school premise or at a school function. Possession includes but is not limited to, having a weapon in a locker, book bag, purse or pocket.
Harassment Policy: Students
Although God made each of us different, we are all very special gifts from God; therefore, Lighthouse Christian School is committed to maintaining an academic and child care environment in which all individuals treat each other with dignity and respect and which is free from all forms of intimidation, exploitation, and harassment, including sexual harassment. The school is prepared to take action to prevent and correct any violations of this policy. Anyone who violates this policy will be subject to discipline, up to and including termination and expulsion. Parents who feel that their child has been subjected to conduct of a harassing nature are encouraged to promptly report the matter to a teacher or the school administrator.
