Tardiness

Students arriving after 8:30 AM and before 9:30 AM are considered tardy. If a student arrives at school after 8:30 AM, parents must come to the office to sign in. All students who arrive late at any time during the school day must come to the school office to sign in. Upon signing in, the student will be sent to class. Parents are asked not to accompany them to class. This would cause an additional interruption. To ensure the security of our students, any parent/visitor that comes in to the building after the doors are locked must come to the main doors and ring the bell. The parent/visitor must sign in at the office and receive a visitor pass. Upon leaving, the parent/visitor must sign out in the office. Excessive tardiness (more than three in a nine week period) will not be tolerated. Students arriving at school after 9:30 AM but before 12:00 noon will be given a half-day absence on their attendance record. Students must be in attendance at least three (3) hours during the day to receive credit for a half-day attendance. Students with excessive tardiness will need to make up work during morning or after school daycare. Parents will be charged $3.00 per hour while the child is in daycare. Three (3) tardies equal one (1) unexcused absence.
