The Love of Jesus Christ to God His Father
How Can Jesus Make A Difference - Part 2

HOW DOES JESUS MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR LIFE?

God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

Romans 5:8 (NLT)

Jesus said, "For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life."

John 3:16 (TEV)

Jesus said, "This is eternal life: that people know you, the only true God, and that they know Jesus Christ, the One you sent."

John 17:3 (NCV)

God desires that you have a relationship with Him - unconditional love and acceptance.

Jesus said, "the world must know that I love the Father, so I do exactly what the Father told me to do."

John 14:31 (NCV)

The one thing that Jesus desired the world to know about Him was that He loved the Father. If the secret of His life was asked, it was "I love the Father."

To know what the love to God means in purity and fullness, you have to look at Jesus Christ.

Jesus said, "Every man who knows my commandments and obeys them is the man who really loves me, and every man who really loves me will himself be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and make myself known to him."

John 14:21 (Phillips NT)

Jesus said, "If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love."

John 15:10 (TEV)

8 WAYS I ACCEPT JESUS' UNCONDITIONAL LOVE AND ACCEPTANCE BY HIS EXAMPLE OF LOVING THE FATHER. THE LOVE OF JESUS CHRIST IS SEEN IN:

1. I accept His doing as the Father gave Him commandment.

Jesus said, "I came down from heaven to do what God wants me to do, not what I want to do."

John 6:38 (NCV)

Jesus was obedient while abandoning the glory He possessed in heaven, to be born of flesh.

Christ was humble. He obeyed God and even died on a cross.

Philippians 2:8 (CEV)

Jesus was obedient to His Father's will even to die on the cross.

Jesus said, "Just as my Father knows me and I know the Father. And I lay down my life... The Father loves me because I lay down my life that I may have it back again. No one can take my life from me. I lay down my life voluntarily. For I have the right to lay it down when I want to and also the power to take it again. For my Father has given me this command."

John 10:15-18 (NLT)

His death was, in the highest sense, voluntary. This was the goal which Jesus deliberately walked.

Jesus said, "I do know Him and keep His word."

John 8:55 (NKJV)

2. I accept His keeping, attending to carefully, guarding, His Father's Word.

To keep God's Word means more than to obey His commands. The Father's Word was His most precious treasure. Jesus valued the Father's Word which governed His heart and passion.

Jesus said, "My Father, if it is possible, don't make me suffer by having me drink from this cup. But do what you want, and not what I want... Jesus prayed "My Father, if there is no other way, and I must suffer, I will still do what you want."

Matthew 26:39-42 (CEV)

3. I accept His Unwavering submission to His Father's will even though His heart was filled with anguish.

I enjoy pleasing you. Your Law is in my heart.

Psalms 40:8 (CEV)

4. I accept His positive delight in doing the Father's will.

The connection shows that the Father's will was His own sacrificial death.

The next day they found him in the Temple seated among the teachers, listening to them and asking questions. The teachers were all quite taken with him, impressed with the sharpness of his answers. But his parents were not impressed; they were upset and hurt. His mother said, "Young man, why have you done this to us? Your father and I have been half out of our minds looking for you." He said, "Why were you looking for me? Didn't you know that I had to be here, dealing with the things of my Father?" But they had no idea what he was talking about.

Luke 2:46-50 (MSG)

Jesus said, "The food that keeps me going is that I do the will of the One who sent me, finishing the work he started."

John 4:34 (MSG)

The one who sent me is with me. I always do what pleases him, and he will never leave me.

John 8:29 (CEV)

5. I accept He always did the things which were pleasing to the Father.

This is more than obedience to commandments. A son may do whatever a father asks him, but a more loyal and loving son will study to find out what is pleasing to his father and anticipate the expression of his will.

To know what was pleasing to the Father was to constantly watch the Father.

Jesus said, "Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner."

John 5:19 (NKJV)

6. I accept Him Seeing His Father while on earth.

Jesus said, "I brought glory to you here on earth by doing everything you told me to do."

John 17:4 (NLT)

When was that work finished?

When Jesus tasted the vinegar, he said, "It is finished." Then he bowed his head and died.

John 19:30 (NCV)

It was love to God before love to man that brought Jesus to Calvary. Christ's sacrifice of Roman scourging, nailed to the cross, and dieing was obedience to the will of the Father. The Father was the object of Jesus' supreme love.

7. I accept His finishing the work the Father gave Him to do.

Jesus said, "I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do."

John 17:4 (NKJV)

8. I accept His seeking the glory of the Father alone.

Pray:

God, I want a relationship with you. Please give me your unconditional love and forgive me of all the things I've done wrong in my life and save my soul. I want to live with you in heaven forever.

If you are already have a relationship with God, are you modeling your life after Jesus' in loving God?

God, I lay down my life voluntarily. I will keep your word, I will do what you ask me to do, and I will finish the work you give me to do.
