How Does One Man's Death Benefit Me?

How do you benefit from one person dieing?

  1. Life insurance
  2. Social Security Death Benefit of $225.00
  3. Veterans Administration Death Benefit: 300.00 to spouse and children, 150.00 plot allowance, 1100.00 direct injury while in service
  4. Personal Property
  5. Survivor's pension

What about the loss, grief, sadness, crying of missing the one you loved?

But what if you're not related? There is no benefit!

God says there is a benefit in One man's death!

For God sent Jesus to take the punishment for our sins and to satisfy God's anger against us. We are made right with God when we believe that Jesus shed his blood, sacrificing his life for us. God was being entirely fair and just when he did not punish those who sinned in former times. And he is entirely fair and just in this present time when he declares sinners to be right in his sight because they believe in Jesus.

Romans 3:24-26 (NLT)

God says I RECEIVED FOUR BENEFITS THROUGH JESUS' DEATH. This means there is value in Jesus' death!

1. THROUGH THE DEATH OF JESUS I AM DRAWN TO HIM.

And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself.

John 12:32-33

[God]... loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to clear away our sins and the damage they've done to our relationship with God.

The death of Christ is the world's great magnet drawing all men unto Him.

2. THROUGH THE DEATH OF JESUS GOD RELEASES HIS LOVE AND MERCY TOWARD ME.

And Christ himself is the means by which our sins are forgiven, and not our sins only, but also the sins of everyone.

1 John 2:2 (TEV)

He shall take some of the blood... and sprinkle it with his finger on the mercy seat... with his finger seven times... he shall make atonement for the Holy Place, because of the uncleanness... transgressions, and... sins; There shall be no man in the tabernacle of meeting when he goes in to make atonement in the Holy Place.

Leviticus 16:14-17 (NKJV)

All God's dealings in mercy with any man are on the ground of Christ's death. Only on the ground of Christ's death could God deal in mercy with you.

It is His blood that does the work of covering your sins. Only blood can cover sins.

Without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sins.

3. JESUS CHRIST BY HIS DEATH TOOK AWAY MY SIN.

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, "Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!"

John 1:29

His death took the sin of the world out of the way so that a clear way to God and pardon and life was opened to all.

Christ carried our sins in his body on the cross so we would stop living for sin and start living for what is right. And you are healed because of his wounds.

... Christ offered himself to God as a perfect sacrifice for our sins.

4. THROUGH THE DEATH OF JESUS I OBTAIN THE RESUURECTION FROM THE DEAD.

Yes, Adam's one sin brought condemnation upon everyone, but Christ's one act of righteousness makes all people right in God's sight and gives them life.

Romans 5:18 (NLT)

For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.

1 Corinthians 15:21-22 (NKJV)

2 Questions:

  1. Will you accept God's substitute as your substitute and accept the death of the One who died on Calvary's cross as your payment to God for your sins?
  2. If you refuse, God will require a payment from you. "For the wages of sin is death"

Either Christ's death on your behalf or your eternal death to satisfy the justice of God. Which will it be?

God, I want the four benefits of your death. Draw me right now to believe. Release your love and mercy in my heart. Take away my sin and give me the resurrection of life with you forever. In Jesus' Name
